Well, never a truer word said and that is exactly how it is feels at the moment! The announcement this week is not what we all wanted to hear, but I also think it was no real surprise to any of us.
So, what is next for ‘The Wonky Giraffe’? Well, being a non-essential shop, I will be closed until at least the 18thJanuary as per the government guidance, but luckily for us ‘The Wonky Giraffe ’has a fully functioning, up and running website and all of the stock is available online. (Well, I say all… that might be a teeny weeny wee white lie as I do have some new items to release which I am holding back until January, so watch this space for something new and exciting!) I am still able to complete online orders and either post these to you or provide a ‘Click and Collect’ service. Collection will have to be strictly by appointment only (as it always is) in order to comply with the guidance, but I am happy to fulfil any orders that will keep you going throughout lockdown; there is no reason for you to be panic buying fabric, wool, patterns or kits just now! I have everything covered and promise you will not be bored over the next few weeks; pop over to my website www.wonkygiraffe.co.uk to have a look at the fabulous projects that are there and ready for you. If you need help with anything you are working on or if you need something and cannot see it on my website, then please do call me on 07551414821 and I will be only too happy to help.
So, a little recap on the patterns I am stocking! Last month I told you about ‘The Rivendale Collection’ by Sally Giblin, ‘TheBirdhouse Collection’ by Natalie Bird and ‘Flying Fish’ by Wendy Williams. Well, this month (and maybe just in time following this week’s announcement!) I have received even more patterns!! Let us have a sneaky peak at some of them:
There are well over one hundred patterns in stock on the website, with prices starting at only £6.25 meaning there is something for everyone. A lot of the patterns are perfect for that fabric stash you all have lying around just dying to be used! Perhaps you’re thinking ‘I don’t need another quilt’… That’s fine, but if you have the time and material, I know of groups that would just love to have quilts to hand out to those less fortunate. If you could spare some time to make them that would be fantastic, and when allowed you can pop them into the workshop, and I will pass them on for you. This also extends to knitted or crocheted blankets. Do not underestimate how appreciated these quilts are; we have had some heart-warming feedback from the people who have received them. Please do get in touch if you are interested or have any further questions about this.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support, kind words and encouragement this year. It has been a frantic, but fantastic few months and I have loved every moment. I count myself very lucky to spend each day doing what I love, and I hope to continue to surprise and support you with some lovely new ideas in the new year.
All there is left to say now is stay safe, look after each other and have a lovely Christmas. I truly wish you all the very best for 2021 and hope it is a better year for all of us.
I look forward to speaking to you all soon!
